Free Flow Palmer-Bowlus Flume Typical Specifications There shall be supplied a Free Flow Model SC Palmer-Bowlus flume with a line size of _____inches and have a length of inches. Flume to be molded in one piece of reinforced polyester fiberglass with 1/4" minimum wall thickness. Wetted surfaces shall have smooth white gel-coat finish; exterior surfaces shall have gel-coat finish. Larger flumes shall have "V shaped reinforcing ribs to prevent distortion during shipment, installation and operation. Flume shall have fiberglass angle crossbraces to prevent distortion during shipment and installation. Head gauges: Head gauges shall be flush molded into flume sidewall at time of manufacture. Gauge markings shall be protected by a 1/16" clear fiberglass laminate. Gauges shall have depth markings in Feet, by 1/10th and 1/100th of a Foot. Anchor clips: There shall be provided fiberglass anchor clips permanently attached to flume exterior. Clips shall have 1/2" dia. hole for securing flume to reinforcing bar embedded in concrete. Ultrasonic Transducer Mounting Bracket: There shall be supplied with the flume, an elevation adjustable bracket, fabricated from 316 SS piping & alloy fittings with a ___female NPT conn. to the transducer. All fasteners shall be stainless steel. Bubbler tubes: There shall be provided a flush mounted 316 SS bubbler tube of 1/2" O.D. at the depth gauging location. Bubbler tube opening shall be set in flume wall such that water depth down to zero flow may be measured. Sensor Cavity: There shall be provided a sensor cavity in the floor of the flume at the depth gauging station. The cavity and cable D track shall be designed to accommodate a submerged pressure sensor as manufactured by ______. The cavity and cable "D" track shall allow installation without either the sensor or cable protruding into the flow stream. Stilling wells: There shall be a permanently attached stilling well of (8" or 12") diameter at the depth gauging station. The well shall extend (4" or 6") below the bottom of the flume. The connecting port shall be a 2" dia. hole with the shortest length possible. The well shall have a top flange to facilitate the installation of depth gauging equipment. Grouting Collars: There shall be provided a grouting collar of ____" I.D. with a length of ____". designed to fit a "dia. pipe such that the pipe invert can be aligned with the flume invert. Pipe Flange End Connections: There shall be provided a _____ line size flat face fiberglass pipe flange with bolt circle pattern and other dimensions to match standard 150# flange dimensions. Neoprene Coupling End Connections: There shall be provided ____" dia. x ___" long pipe stub ends with flexible neoprene couplings to fit over the pipe exterior and secured in place with stainless steel band clamps. Couplings shall be designed for ___ PVC, VCP, steel...) pipe with an O.D. of ___. Internal Expansion Couplings: There shall be provided pipes stub ends with an I.D. to
match the __" I.D. of the upstream and downstream piping. The internal expanding
mechanism shall be stainless steel & operated by a bolt. The seal mechanism shall be
